The most awkward place in the world

is the breakroom at work if there's anyone else in there. There are about 100 people where I work and some I know more than others, but going into the breakroom when someone is already there is one of the most uncomfortable things I encounter on a daily basis. I guess it has to do with the fact that I can't stand small-talk and there are only 100 or so times that saying 'Boy, it's a hot one out there' will get you by.

But, and here's the kicker, I feel like an asshole if I walk in and out without saying anything at all. I'd like to find something funny but clean (SFW) to say each time. Any ideas?

Again, it has to be safe for work you jackasses. The only place more uncomfortable than the breakroom is being pulled into the Human Resources office to be fired for saying 'Happy Steak and Blowjob Day'.

I totally agree with you ska... I also find the smoke break difficult as well. When all your buddies smoke and you don't, it's hard to stand around and keep the small talk going with second hand smoke in your face.
