planning a trip to Europe this summer... well late may... bout 10 days id say
want to go to Berlin, Amsterdam, maybe down to Belgium too.
what is the cheapest way to travel. i will be on my own, and i love to drive. when i was in Europe for work last year my company paid for my rental car and i drove everywhere. i have no problems driving everywhere, but rental cars are expensive... but from what i remember so were trains. any advice for a poor wanderer in Europe?
"5 days in 2 months" i would be able to use it on 5 particular days within a 2 month period? so if i were going for 10 days and wanted to use the train 5 times id be sorted?
There are several packages. Its allows unlimited train travel for the certain amount of days you purchase. You basically pay for 24 hours of train time. Their site explains it better. it was cheaper than actually buying your tickets in Europe I had basically traveled to 3 countries for a little over 100 dollars

Travel across Europe and discover 33 countries by train with Interrail. Enjoy the best rail travel experience in Europe with our Interrail Pass!
Your downside is that the Euro is high right now. I just got back from Europe due to work and everyting is expensive.
yea it is expensive. but i have a free flight from miles and hostiles are 30-40 euro a night... so that, food, booze i think i can keep it cheap enough. i have a big project at work finishing in may and i need to get away. i am close to losing my mind... so i am going need some soul searching....
i just got back from amsterdam, so much fun!
i took a train from paris, with the under 26 rail pass it was only 150euro round trip from bordeaux. i've got some friends doing some traveling this week, i'll ask them how they did it when i see them again.
If it was planned well enough then ot wouldnt suprise me if flying round Europe was cheapest. Easyjet are obv v cheap and often Ryanair do silly offers like UK to france for 1p (no taxes etc either), u just have to keep an eye on their website..

if you're looking to do it on the cheap, Eurail is the way to go. Not only is it an inexpensive and easy way to get around, it can double as your accommodations if you take an overnight train somewhere. Also, it's a hell of a lot of fun -- there are lots of young people on the trains, so it can be like a big party...
Can you still forge the days on Eurorail by changing numbers (e.g. always travel on the 1st as a 1 can then easily be transposed to another no.).
Rail travel is the best ... but if you're from the uk I don't think you can get Eurorail ... we're excluded !
Anyway ... go to ibiza instead - you know it makes sense !

luckily for my wallet my job does not permit me to be smoking the wacky! so i would save some dough there.
thanks for the offer kinky, where abouts are you in belgium?
i wouldnt go to ibiza... i love mainland europe (well more north...germany ect), something about the cities, the country side... just love it. i want to hit some mountains, some cites and off course rock out in berlin.
i need to wander about on my own and get into some adventures. party with people random people i meet and have some time to think on my own.
this trip is well needed.
chance i may be able to swing something with work, that will make it even more economical
damn bro. I wish you the best. Make sure to get in touch with some favorite producers of yours and ask if you could hang out with them for a day or so while you are there.
And Kinky was truly kind to offer you a place to crash. How many other guys on this board would do that?
