Long story short. Im not much of an "ebayer" but I recently ordered some training DVD videos off ebay as a gift for a friend. I would have rather bought them from a more reputable source some where else but they were out of print. So I checked ebay and found them at a reasonable price.
Well low and behold when I received them today they were counterfeit. Big surprise right.
Im debating whether to contact the seller to work it out or just straight out report it to ebay.
What would you do?
Have any of you come across an experience like this?
counterfeit meaning "bootleg".. happens all the time.. where is the auction link? is the ZERO indication they might be bootleg.. i would contact the seller first, always courteous to try to work it out with them initially and see what they say

If you used a credit card to either pay via Paypal or other, then you have recourse with your card company; if all cannot first be resolved with the seller... Your card company will require that you make an attempt to resolve, return, etc. And will ask that you give the seller 2-3 weeks to respond and react. Be sure to keep all correspondence, e-mails, etc.
You card provider will back you up, if you used paypal or another payment service, they have procedures in place to dispute payment for fraud, receipt of damaged goods, etc...
I made alot of $$$ on eBay, but quit after a few years when shady people starting making it far too risky... eBay is a great place for shitty people to scam unsuspecting consumers...
Q: What do Osama and Obama have in common???
A: They both have a friend that blew up the Pentagon!
i would report it immediately to ebay. IF it really pissed you off that he sent you bootleg copies...depending also on how much you spent on it.
when i bought Ableton Live 4 back in 04...i bought it off ebay from a guy who said he had gotten them from a store that was going under. I was suspicious about the deal, but the guy assured me they were not copies. When I got the package, it was fully boxed and not bootlegged. So I guess I got lucky with that one.
