Starbucks is changing its logo to this:



and a Christian group is pissed:

A Christian group out of San Diego has found grounds for outrage over the new logo for Starbucks Coffee.

The Resistance says the new image "has a naked woman on it with her legs spread like a prostitute," Mark Dice, founder of the group, said in a news release. "Need I say more? It's extremely poor taste, and the company might as well call themselves Slutbucks."

Apparently, the logo is a throw-back to what the chain used when it first opened in Seattle more than 35 years ago, which was based on an old sixteenth-century Norse woodcut.

Nothing like irritated prudes to lighten your day.

i don't think it'll make any difference in their bottom line at all. And I wouldn't give a crap about stocks when thinking about this company. They make good products and give good customer service and that is all that matters.

If you arent a stockholder, why the fuck would you worry about stocks.

The company itself is worried about it's own stock price.

They make good products and give good customer service and that is all that matters.

I've never understood the unbelievable loyalty people have to Starbuck's. My parents will drive 20 miles out of their way to get a fucking Frappaccino and if we're anywhere and happen upon a Starbuck's, we have to stop. There's an attorney at my office that's the same way, and she would probably punch someone offering free coffee in the face if he was blocking her path to Starbuck's. It's a cup of coffee, for pete's sake.

They must be doing something right, but I've never thought it was all that.

I avoid Starbucks not because of the quality of their beverages (all I drink is black coffee), but because they charge for wireless access. fuck that!

Their coffee is horrible ... just the complete opposite of the small expertly prepared cups you get from dedicated bar staff in italy.

I dont like starbucks coffee all that much, but one thing that is great is that they are consistent across the various stores. A latte will be the exact same at every single friggen starbucks you go. At other places, some times its too hot, to cold, to much foam etc. You dont' know what you are going it get until you get it.

Rather than change their logo, maybe they could increase gross profits by not competing with themselves. Here in Philly there is a starbucks literally every block and an half. The is one on all four corners of campus.

Or maybe they could offer at least one coffee that isn't "bold" or won't burn a hole in your stomach if you have more than one cup. Even their breakfast blend is too harsh. Give me dunkin donuts for an easy drinking cup of coffee any day.

I'm proud to say Starbucks never really took off in Australia, but then again we know real coffee here!! Particularly in Melbourne.

Btw Miroslav, A good long black is one of the hardest coffees to get right.!!
