Veteran Manchester dance label Deconstruction is to be bought back to life, after shutting up shop back in 1998.

Sony, who acquired the label in 1993 after it struck gold with the likes of K-Klass and Bassheads, will re-launch the label this summer. The plan is to sign new artists and re-issue selections from the back catalogue – which features tracks from Deep Dish, Way Out West, Black Box, M-People and Kylie Minogue.

The first re-release to drop will be Sasha's prog-anthem Xpander, which will come with a raft of new remixes.

Next up will be Lionrock's (aka Justin Robertson) proto big-beater Packet Of Piece, which was originally transformed by the Chemical Brothers in 1993.

Anyone know who's doing the new remixes of Xpander?

Deconstruction, classic. Some cracking tracks back in the early 90s

Can't get enough of Xpander personally, never seem to tire of it. Look forward to some new remixes

Looking forward to Packet Of Peace! I have some tracks off of this label going way back, I think my earliest one is Erotic Animals but I could be wrong and have some even older tracks...

great tune, thought the chemicals mix was good but with the vocal gone is was just a different track really for me, rather than a remix proper

hope someone does a decent job of it, though i'm happy to still play the original now and again.
