Re: 18 Vets Kill Themselves Each Day - Stop the War
It is really a very sad statistic. My uncle was a career Marine up until a few years ago when he unfortunately became a part of this group. He'd spent his entire adult life in the military, was injured in Iraq and retired. All indications are that after all of those years of being a soldier, not being actively involved in the military caused him to lose his sense of purpose, and he kind of lost his way and fell in to a funk.
I'm sure these vets all have their own reasons for making that terrible choice, but it's just really, really sad. We need to do a better job of supporting these brave men and women when they return from service.
