So how many on here own / ride motorcycles? I bought an SUV a couple of years back but with me now entering a single life (and to save some gas), I am seriously considering getting a bike, at least for inner-city riding and maybe venture onto inter-city / highway riding when I'm comfortable with it.
At first I was thinking of getting the all-electric Zero SR

It's obviously got a lot of perks being an electric bike i.e. no gas / oil / service expenses, charges overnight on a 110 Volt line, and it's quick AF (110 F/lbs of Torque iirc).
Downside? It's not got the classic motorcycle sound, no gears (so no gear control, which I miss from my younger days riding bikes), and of course range-anxiety. Another significant negative is the price, this one stickers at $15,990 (almost $16K) and after adding options like quick charge and bigger battery, it tops out at nearly $19K, which then means I would need to ride it for close to 10 years to recover any part of my investment.
I then started looking at gas alternatives and ran into this little number - the Yamaha FZ-07
It's light (barely $397 lbs), giving it excellent power-to-weight ratio, great on gas being light (56 MPG), made by Yamaha (which makes even more reliable bikes than Honda and Suzuki) which means less long-term maintenance expenses, and the biggest benefit? It's under $7K.
With Winter nearly upon us, I will wait until next Spring to pick it up but I'm pretty excited. Anyone else into riding?
