theres 2 kinds of surgery - 1 involves making a cut in the outler layer of the eye and folding that aside to get at the bit they need to laser. thats painless. the other (the one i'm having) involves softening the outer layer with alcohol and pushing it aside. much more pain and longer recovery, but risks of complications are much less and success rates higher. its not as common - most people have the other one.Originally posted by beto

my girlfriend had it done a few months ago. she said it hurt a little.
her eyes were really dry for like 2 months afterwards. constantly using eye drops.
she's all good now though, and has no vision problems.
